Mumbles
Mumbles is located approximately 12 km west of Swansea City centre on the edge of the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), the first officially designated such area in Britain. The nearby old fishing village of Oystermouth with its own castle contains many bars and restaurants and a variety of shops including two supermarkets, chemists and souvenir shops. The City of Swansea offers much to do both by day and night with its busy indoor market, bustling shopping centre, theatres, museums, Plantasia glasshouse and a wealth of bars and restaurants. Swansea also boasts a new state-of-the-art Leisure Centre re-opened in March 2008 after a £30 million refurbishment (for details visit www.thelcswansea.com).
